Jason “Jay” Brunner

Jay handles the play-by-play duties for Cougar Football, although he’ll often do color commentary for his broadcast partner Jeremy Smith. Jason graduated from Middle TN Christian in 2002. During his time at MTCS he played 4 years for the high school soccer team as a goalie and forward. He received his degree in Electronic Media Journalism from Middle TN State University in May 2009. His love for football really started with the Tennessee Volunteers’ national championship win in 1999, along with the moves of the Houston Oilers / Tennessee Titans franchise to Nashville. His favorite thing about MTCS football is the “anything can happen” feeling and the rush of pure excitement that comes with calling high school sports. While “on the air” he goes by the name Jay. On Saturdays during the fall, you can find Jay glued to the nearest TV or radio, watching and listening to his Vols or the Blue Raiders of MTSU.

Jay received the nickname “Stud” while calling the MTCS / McEwen game in October 2008. Ask him how!

Jeremy Smith

Jeremy handles color commentary for Cougar football, but he and Jay Brunner will often switch up roles. Jeremy graduated from Hickman County High School in 2005. He played quarterback in middle school and during his first two years of high school. He earned his degree in Electronic Media Journalism in December 2010. Jeremy has been a lifelong football fan, and loves the Georgia Bulldogs and Tennessee Titans. His favorite thing about MTCS football is the passion and dedication of the fans, traveling with the team wherever they play. When he’s not in class, working, or sleeping, Jeremy is usually watching ESPN, blogging, or playing Madden Football on his X-Box.

Jeremy received the nickname “Solo” during his play-calling at the MTCS / Jo Byrns game in September 2008. Ask him how!

Jay and Jeremy are occasionally joined in the booth by Kyle “Number Cruncher” Thomas and Marc “Hallmark” Hall. Nichole Brunner handles the cameras.
